Rich Avery was trained as a high school math teacher at the University of New Hampshire and he advises the majority of the math education majors at Dakota State University. At the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, Rich studied Difference Equations, Boundary Value Problems and Fixed Point Theory which remain the focus of his mathematical research efforts.
