Giving back to DSU.
The Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises and manages private funding for DSU. These private funds provide scholarships and other educational opportunities for DSU students.
The vast majority of DSU’s student scholarships are privately funded through donors like yourself.
Why does a state university need private support?
As a public university, DSU receives funding from the state to assist with some costs of delivering education. State assistance is critically important, but through it DSU receives very little money for scholarships. As a result, the majority of scholarships are funded privately through donors. And, these private contributions become increasingly important every year.
How does the Foundation serve the university?
The Foundation exists solely for DSU’s benefit. We serve as the channel for private gifts to all areas of the university. Located in the Dale E. Kringen Alumni & Foundation Center, we are governed by a board of trustees. Through annual giving programs, planned gifts, and special-purpose campaigns, the Foundation staff works with DSU to generate private support from alumni and friends.
