A management degree provides a solid foundation for students wanting a general business focus. At DSU, you’ll learn the business basics with a technical edge that can help you manage a family-owned business, Fortune 500 corporation, or your own start-up.

You’ll develop leadership skills that will serve you well in many professions, including business, not-for-profit, government, and military. You can even couple your management major with other tech-focused programs to give you a unique edge in the job market.

Management students can choose to continue their education with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at DSU. If you’re interested in a graduate degree, we’ll work with you to develop a plan for your future and make sure you take all the right courses. You’ll leave prepared to pursue graduate degrees and become a leader in your field.

Benefits of studying management at DSU

Management classes are known for their close-knit quality. Most classes have about 20–30 students per class and professors are often available outside of class. DSU’s management professors have a wealth of business work experience in addition to their academic credentials.

Internships are encouraged and we’ll help you find them. Outside of class, you can participate in a number of student activities and clubs, including Working With Helping Others (W.H.O) and Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Business Club. Scholarships and grants are also available for management students.

Integrated technology

Students work with Excel, Access, statistical software, and business simulation software.

Accreditation

Our bachelor of business administration program is one of the few in South Dakota accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). This means that in addition to meeting all evaluation criteria and curriculum standards, DSU is also involved in the creation of innovative programs. This additional accreditation means your degree will be recognized wherever you go.
