This is where it starts.
Success happens all over DSU’s campus, from the classroom to our sports arenas. But a lot of those successes get started right here.
Whether you're an on-campus or distance student, we have tutoring resources available to help you achieve your goals. And the great thing about our many tutoring options: we're right there, wherever you are.
On-campus students can take advantage of our individual and small-group tutoring in a variety of subjects at the Karl Mundt Library (KML) Tutoring Center.
The Tutoring Center tutors also provide Help Nights for our First Year Residential Experience (FYRE) students living in the residence halls. No need to leave your hall to get assistance in English, math, science and computer courses. Our peer tutors come right to you!
We tailor the tutoring experience to fit your needs as a distance student. E-tutoring is available to our online and University Center - Sioux Falls students in many subject areas.
Distance students can connect with our peer tutors using a web conferencing software program that allows students to collaborate via video chat, file sharing and interactive whiteboard. Even if you're far away from us, we're still right there to support your academic endeavors.
Math Success Center
Our Math students in our Math 095 will find a helpful tutoring and testing environment. Located in our Science Center, the Math Success Center provides access to Math 095 instructors and tutors on a daily basis.
Spectrum STRONG is a new program at DSU that focuses on the range of differences that can make it difficult for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) students to meet the multi-faceted demands of college and independent adult life. Learn more.
We realize there is more to college than just achieving great things in the classroom. It is about meeting goals in all areas of your life. Our counseling resources are here to help you succeed academically, socially and personally.
Our student development professionals are available to work with students and their professors on finding solutions for challenges in the classroom. Whether it's study skills, stress or time management, our professionals help evaluate situations and offer solutions to help students achieve success in college.
Students that are on academic probation receive individualized attention in counseling and mentoring to facilitate good academic standing.
Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention
We offer a comprehensive system of resources to our students on awareness and education of alcohol, drug use and violence prevention. We can provide confidential consultations on specific issues and assist in finding the right service to fit your needs.
Our professional staff are here to offer free, personal counseling services for any of our students. We also have a network in the Madison community to access personal counseling, chemical dependency counseling, and therapy services.
As always, we’re here to help you find success not only as a student but as an individual with the potential for excellence. Give us a call at (605) 256-5121 or contact us online.
