Yen-Ling Chang

Dr. Chang’s research primarily focuses on the economic and financial impacts of banking reforms on financial institutions and markets. Her other research interests including asset pricing and market efficiency. Dr. Chang has a Ph.D. in Finance and a master's degree in Economics.

Robert Girtz

Rob Girtz is an assistant professor of business and economics. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Middle Tennessee State University with specializations in labor economics and applied econometrics and has published research articles in outlets such as the Journal of Labor Research, Labour, the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, and the Economics Bulletin. Rob primarily teaches principles of microeconomics, business statistics I, and business statistics II. He is a member of the honors faculty and regularly offers an honors section of principles of microeconomics.

Scott primarily teaches accounting and business law classes both in the graduate and undergraduate programs.His primary research interests include cyber law and privacy, torts, fraud and forensics, and business ethics. Prior to arriving at DSU, Scott held several key leadership positions in accounting, finance, and law.

Zixing Shen

Dr. Shen teaches introduction to management, introduction of management information systems, organizational behavior, technology and innovation management, decision support systems, among others.
Dr. Shen’s research focuses on the use of technology in organizations. She has published in leading journals such as European Journal of Information Systems, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and presented at premier conferences including Academy of Management Annual Meeting (AoM), International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS).

Daniel Talley

Dan teaches in the undergraduate and graduate business and information systems programs at Dakota State University. Dan teaches economics, statistics, and graduate courses each semester. Dan has published and presented over twenty original research and conference papers studying aspects of international trade, macroeconometrics, banking and finance, as well as teaching economics with computer technology. DSU co-author Dr. Yen-Ling Chang and Dan had their research paper “Bank Risk in a Decade of Low Interest Rates” published in the Journal of Economics and Finance in July 2017. Dr. Talley was appointed Undergraduate Business Programs Coordinator for the College of Business and Information Systems and also serves as Academic Director of the MadLabs Center for Business Analytics Research (CBAR).

Deb Tech

As Marketing professor at DSU, Dr. Tech incorporates new innovations (i.e., Digital Marketing, Big Data and Analytics) and disruptive technology (Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Technology and Internet of Things) into her coursework and research. Dr. Tech also enjoys international travel, organizing alumni and student trips to exotic places.

Jack Walters

Position: Professor of Management / Coordinator for Masters of Business Administration Program

Dr. Jack Walters teaches general, strategic, operations, human resource, and international management, entrepreneurship, and organizational behavior at the graduate and undergraduate level. He published a book on Positive Management in 2010 and is currently writing a book about International Trade Policy and its impact on human resource management strategy. Dr. Walters is Coordinator of the University’s MBA program, Chair of DSU's Institutional Review Board, and is a member of the University's Research and AQIP committees.
