Digital Arts and Design Production Animation image

The Digital Arts and Design Production Animation program (offered on campus) gives you a solid foundation in 3D digital design and animation. You’ll learn how to create realistic digital environments and characters for a career in modern entertainment.

Benefits of studying production animation at DSU

The production animation program is actually a specialization of the digital arts and design degree. You'll take core requirements that will prepare you to work on multimedia design teams and traditional arts like drawing and painting.

Digital arts classes are kept small for hands-on projects. Faculty have real-life experience in the industry. As a student in their classrooms, you’ll receive real-world advice that will be immediately applicable.

Outside the classroom, there are a number of student clubs and activities to join including the Photography Club and Animation Club. Scholarships and grants are also available for production animation majors.

Integrated technology

Then, your production animation specialization will build on this. You’ll work with current software and video production equipment on projects that mimic real-life experiences. You’ll learn how to create and edit 2D and 3D characters in a digital environment, as well as digital editing and storyboarding. In the end, you'll have the experience to work with animated digital videos at a professional level.
