Position: Assistant Professor of Digital Arts and Design

Having worked on films such as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Happy Feet, The Golden Compass, Chronicle, Alvin and the Chipmunks, X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Pixels, and Hotel Transylvania 2, Ryan brings over 11 years experience in visual effects and animation to the classroom. 

Ryan teaches 3-Dimensional computer graphics courses aimed to arm the students with the concepts and tools necessary to visualize their designs, artwork and animation in 3D.

He is particularly interested in the use of technology to bring folklore, urban legends, oral history and mythology to a new audience.  

When not challenging students to create, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and the great outdoors.

Timothy David Orme is a writer and filmmaker whose short animated films​ range from ​traditional to narrative to experimental to everything in between. His work has been programmed at a variety of festivals and venues including Raindance, the European Media Arts Festival, the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, and the Ann Arbor Film Festival, among others. On top of his independent filmmaking experience, Tim has over 8 years of freelance film and animation experience. He has produced over 300 Public Service Announcements, created numerous commercials, online content and product animations. He has ran camera for live sporting events, taught high school animation courses, and assisted on larger commercial productions including NBC's The Biggest Loser.  He currently teaches courses in 2D animation, including advanced 2D animation, motion graphics and design, and a year-long 2D production course. He co-advises the Animation Club and runs the Xenoscope Screening series.
