The South Dakota Society for Respiratory Care sponsors these awards for deserving students enrolled in the respiratory care program, who are also members of the American Association for Respiratory Care.

This scholarship was established through the leadership of Madison businessman, George Loomer, who, along with many others, formed the Kingsmen Club in honor of Bob King, ‘57, former area high school and DSU band director. This scholarship is awarded to incoming or continuing students in any discipline, who will also participate in music at DSU.

This scholarship was established in 1997 through the Hazel Devere Koch Trust. Hazel was a long time piano teacher who resided in Madison with her husband George. This is awarded to a deserving student, incoming or continuing, who is active in music at DSU.
