At Dakota State University, we have everything you need to advance your knowledge in the Cyber Defense field and take on hackers. Our Ph.D. in Cyber Defense addresses growing cyber threats, risk management practices, technological controls and workforce needs, while providing you with a foundation in research methodology and practice, security issues and practices, risk analysis, politics, data privacy, security technologies, and more. The DSU Ph.D. in Cyber Defense takes a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to cyber defense, including important technical, leadership, ethics, and management concepts. Our graduates will be prepared for careers in private industries, government agencies, the military, research labs and academia.

This program will be available entirely online, for United States residents and applicants from all eligible countries. We are currently accepting applications for the Ph.D. in Cyber Defense Program, for the Fall of 2019. Applications to this program will be accepted now, through July 1, 2019.
*The Dakota State Board of Regents has approved this program; however, Ph.D. in Cyber Defense is still pending Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation approval. While DSU anticipates full program approval in the months ahead, prospective Ph.D. candidates will be applying to a “pending-approval” program.
