Andy Behrens is an assistant professor specializing in analytics and information system analysis and design. He is also the Coordinator of the Computer Information Systems undergraduate program, and he co-advises the Association for Information Systems chapter. In addition, Andy advises the World Language Club. His research interests include applied artificial intelligence and analytics in healthcare and system analysis and design. He has publications in conferences and journals.

Biography
Dr. Dorine Bennett is the Academic Dean of College of Business and Information Systems. She has been an active member of national and regional health information associations and has earned Fellowship status in the American Health Information Management Association. Prior to coming to DSU, she worked in the health information management field in long term care, community health, and acute care settings. Dr. Bennett has a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA), with an emphasis in Management of Information Systems. She also holds a PhD in Educational Administration, Adult and Higher Education.

Patti is an Assistant Professor in the Health Informatics and Information Management programs. She primarily teaches courses in health informatics, health information systems, health statistics and healthcare data analytics, healthcare research, and healthcare quality management.
Patti’s primary research interests include data quality and information governance, population health including social determinants of health, digital health, and the medical internet of things (IoT). Her educational background includes health informatics, health information management, information systems, and data analytics.
Patti’s industry experience includes over 40 years of working in healthcare including; information systems leadership, health information, clinical intelligence, and healthcare management. She is a member of HIMSS and AHIMA at both the national and state levels.

Dr.Chang is a social scientist who uses data to address social and financial issues. She believes data, when used properly, could lead to understand the causes of an issue and find optimal sloutions for it.
Dr. Chang has taught a variety of finance related courses, including Personal Finance, Business Finance, Financial Technology, Advanced Business Finance, Investments, Real Estate Investments, Financial Institutions and Markets, Futures and Options. Dr. Chang is working on a special topic on Blockchain application in the financial services industry.
Dr. Yen-Ling Chang’s research interests focus on the economic benefits of financial reforms and technological advancement for the banking sector. Her published articles and conference presentations address newly emerging issues in the banking and financial service spaces.

Omar El-Gayar, Ph.D. is a Professor of Information Systems. Rob Girtz is an assistant professor of business and economics. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Middle Tennessee State University with specializations in labor economics and applied econometrics and has published research articles in outlets such as the Journal of Labor Research, Labour, the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, and the Economics Bulletin. Rob primarily teaches principles of microeconomics, business statistics I, and business statistics II. He is a member of the honors faculty and regularly offers an honors section of principles of microeconomics.

Cherie Noteboom is a Professor of Information Systems in the College of Business and Information Systems, Coordinator of the Ph.D. in Information Systems, and Director of the Center of Excellence in Information Systems at Dakota State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In addition, she has earned an Education Doctorate in Adult & Higher Education & Administration & MBA from the University of South Dakota. She has a BS degree in computer science from South Dakota State University. She researches in the areas of Information Systems, Healthcare, and Project Management.
Her industry experience runs the continuum from technical computer science endeavors to project management and formal management & leadership positions. She has significant experience working with Management Information Systems, Staff Development, Project Management, Application Development, Education, Healthcare, Mentoring, and Leadership.
She has served on several Nursing College Advisory Boards, YMCA Board of Directors and K12 School Board. Noteboom actively participates in PMI, AIS, ACM, and HIMSS. She has held the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation since 2000. Noteboom enjoys running, fishing, reading, photography and traveling.

Insu Park is an associate professor in Business & Information Systems. His research interests include E-commerce, Healthcare & Social Media Analytics, Information Privacy, and Behavioral Issues in IS. His research has been published in several leading journals, including MIS Quarterly, Decision Science, Decision Support Systems, Information and Management, International Journal of Electronic Commerce, and IEEE Transaction on System, Man and Cybernetics etc. He has numerous conference proceedings and presentations in leading conferences, such as the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and the Academy of Management (AOM).

Biography
Renae Spohn is the Director of the Health Information Management programs at Dakota State University. She is also the Coordinator of the Master of Science in Health Informatics and Information Management program.
She is a registered health information administrator (RHIA), a certified professional in healthcare informatics (CPHI) and healthcare quality (CPHQ), and a fellow in the American Health Information Management Association and in the National Association for Healthcare Quality.
Renae serves as the Chair of DSU's CQI Committee. She is a member of the Health Information Management Accreditation Council and has also served as a Peer Reviewer for CAHIIM, the accreditation organization for HIM educational programs. She has served on the SDHIMA Board of Directors and has been President of SDHIMA. She has served on the AHIMA Board of Directors and has served on the AHIMA Fellowship Committee, Triumph Awards Committee, and Nominating Committee. She served as a Chair and Co-Chair of the Long-Term Care Practice Council for several years. In addition, she has served as a Baldrige Evaluator for the Performance Excellence Network (SD, ND, MN).

Biography
Teaching Interests:
Principles of Macro- and Microeconomics, Money and Banking, Statistics/Econometrics, and Open Economy Macroeconomics (International Trade Theory and Practice)
Dan teaches in the undergraduate and graduate business and information systems programs at Dakota State University. Dan teaches economics, statistics, and graduate courses each semester. Dan has published and presented over twenty original research and conference papers studying aspects of international trade, macro econometrics, banking, and finance, as well as teaching economics with computer technology. DSU co-author Dr. Yen-Ling Chang and Dan had their research paper “Bank Risk in a Decade of Low-Interest Rates” published in the Journal of Economics and Finance in July 2017. Dr. Talley was appointed the MBA Program Coordinator for the College of Business and Information Systems in 2022. Biography
Dr. Tech is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Internship Coordinator for the College of Business and Information Systems and the Beacom College of Computing. She has been with DSU since 1999. Her formal training includes an undergraduate degree in Secondary Education in Math and Spanish, an MBA in International Business, and a PhD in e-commerce.
Dr. Tech’s teaching philosophy is focused on providing each student with the life-long tools necessary to succeed in the technologically changing business world. The use and evaluation of new technologies are incorporated in her classes, emphasizing hands-on application when possible.
Her classroom environment fosters open dialogue, exploration of new ideas, mutual respect, and expansion of concepts to the marketing field. Dr. Tech’s easy, open rapport with students, while maintaining a rigorous learning environment, has led to her receiving the Teagarden Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2015. She was also nominated for the ACBSP teaching award in 2018.
Dr. Tech’s research interests are in the areas of Disruptive Technologies and their impacts on business and marketing. (i.e.: Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain technology, Internet of Things, and Virtual/Augmented Reality)

Biography
Julie is a registered health information administrator (RHIA), as well as a certified professional in healthcare informatics (CHPI). She has served on the South Dakota Health Information Management (SDHIMA) Board of Directors and has been the President of SDHIMA. Julie also has served on the education committee for the South Dakota Healthcare Information and Management System Society (SDHIMSS).
Julie teaches in the undergraduate and graduate programs in health information management and health informatics programs at Dakota State University. Her classes include; Introduction to Health Information Management, Legal Aspects of Health Information I & II, Introduction to Healthcare Information Systems, Practical Coding Applications, Clinical Documentation Integrity, and several other graduate-level courses.
Julie is also the Supervise Professional Practice Coordinator. In this role, she works with students to organize their unpaid internships in healthcare facilities.
Previous to coming to DSU, Julie has 30+ years of healthcare experience in health information management. She has experience as a clinic manager, project manager for an electronic health record software company, a consultant in HIM for a long-term care organization, and a director of HIM in an acute care hospital.

Beyond the bedside
An interest in science, medicine, and health will often conjure images of potential careers as doctors, nurses, dentists, paramedics, and therapists, but there are other avenues for those who would prefer to work with different aspects of patient care. Health informatics and information include all data related to a patient’s medical history, including their symptoms, diagnoses, procedures, and outcomes.
