Homecoming royalty crowned

Braxton Lacher and Maya Plummer were crowned king and queen at Dakota State’s coronation ceremony.  

“We are excited for all of the festivities this week and so proud to have the students of this year’s court representing Dakota State,” said Mandy Hendrix, director of student engagement and leadership.

Homecoming court members represent various clubs and organizations on campus and are elected by the student body.

Braxton Lacher is a senior biology major from Watertown, S.D. He is a member of the football team, a leader in TriBeta Club, a member of the Captain’s Council, and a Trojan Ambassador. Lacher’s favorite DSU memory just happened when the football team won Ag Bowl on the new field. He represented TriBeta.

Maya Plummer is a second-year student majoring in Computer Information Systems from Brookings, S.D. Plummer is involved in the Student Activities Board, Nanocon leadership team, Swing Dance Club, Theater Club, Honors, and is a resident assistant in Higbie Hall. Her favorite DSU memory was creating and running the student activities board Wizard Week. She represented the Student Activities Board.

  • Wael Delessa, a senior computer science major from Ethiopia, representing CybHER®
  • Kinjal Basnet, a first-year student majoring in finance from Nepal, representing the International Club.
  • Cody Farland, a senior cyber operations major from New Underwood, S.D., representing Pi Beta Kappa.
  • Hannah Evans, a fourth-year biology major from Pipestone, Minn., representing TriBeta Club.
  • Jöelle Malacko, a senior computer information systems and business analytics major from New London, Minn., representing the CybHER Club.
  • Kaden Krusemark, a fourth-year general studies major with photography and video production minors from Madison, S.D., representing the Lights Camera Action Film Club.
  • Kodiak McClure, a junior cyber operations major from Volga, S.D., representing the Games Club.
  • Angela Slattery, a senior computer science major from Raymond, Wisc., representing Trojan Ambassadors.
