Biography
Colonel (Retired) Jim Cahill is an Adjunct Professor at the Dakota State University. He served in the U.S. Army for 25 years, initially as an aviation officer and small unit leader in the Third Infantry Division and the First Cavalry Division, and then as a strategist. He served as a Senior Plans Advisor in the Office of the Secretary of Defense; Senior Strategist in the Army Strategy and War Plans Divisions; Joint Plans Officer at U.S. European Command; Senior Military Advisor at the Department of State; and Alliance Planner at the ROK/U.S. Combined Forces Command. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota, a Master of International Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a Ph.D. in Public Policy from George Mason University's Schar School of Policy and Government.
