Biography

Tyler Flaagan is an Assistant Professor at The Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences at Dakota State University, and Director of the Deep Red Lab within Dakota State University MadLabs®️. He is also a Senior Technical Mentor for the Season 3 U.S. Cyber Team.

Previously, Tyler worked for the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic as a Red Team Operator, supporting various programs throughout the Department of Defense. Additionally, he trained defenders during Exercise Cyber Shield.

In his free time, Tyler is an avid capture the flag (CTF) player who has won CTFs such as MetaCTF hosted at Wild West Hackin’ Fest, OpenSOC hosted at DEF CON, and is also a SANS NetWars Champion.
