Biography
Scott Morstad is an Associate Professor of the College of Business & Information Systems, teaching accounting and business law classes both in the graduate and undergraduate programs. His primary research interests include cyber law and privacy, torts, fraud and forensics, and business ethics.
Prior to arriving at DSU, Scott held several key leadership positions in accounting, finance, and law. Some of these leadership roles included Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer just to name a few.
Scott practiced law for approximately five years including an internship with a large public defender's office, and as a sole practitioner practicing law in criminal defense, contract law, torts, business law, and family law.
Scott has had extensive teaching experience by adjunct work at several universities, a part time position and the University of South Dakota, and the last eight years teaching at Dakota State University.
