Biography
Andy Rowland is the Esports Head Coach at DSU. He is the first-ever head coach for the Esports athletic program. Rowland began his collegiate career at Roosevelt University in Chicago, on a soccer scholarship, before transferring to Texas Christian University (TCU), to begin his Esports journey. Before Andrew, TCU did not have an Esports organization on campus. He campaigned for an organization and gathered enough interest to charter TCU Esports under his direction. In TCU’s first year, Andy’s varsity League of Legends team placed third in the American Collegiate Esports League (ACEL). He graduated from TCU in December of 2018, with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science. Andy has experience managing teams in the Challenger, Masters, and Grandmasters tiers of League of Legends. He also has connections to some of today’s top streamers and Esports athletes, which will help develop skills and opportunities for DSU students.
