Preparation + opportunity = success

That's the DSU equation. We're a four-year university with nationally recognized programs, cutting-edge facilities, and the brightest thinkers. But we're also a tight-knit, inclusive community. Small class sizes mean hands-on training and individualized attention. All this with an affordable, public school price that's among the best values in the region.

DSU's True Trojans

August 27, 2024

Dakota State University has named several employees “True Trojans.”

Seven award categories were created in 2019 as a way for the university to acknowledge and recognize employees for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to DSU’s mission. This year, 112 employees – about one-third of the university’s workforce – were nominated for these honors.

Deb Roach, Vice President for Human Resources, noted that this level of engagement is evidence of the widespread efforts to accomplish tremendous things at Dakota State. Five awards are based on nominations from colleagues; two are student-nominated, demonstrating that employees who consistently go above and beyond, solve problems, and improve work situations also serve as role models for the student body.

The 2024 award winners include:

2023 Civil Services Association (CSA) Outstanding Contributor – Erin Kahler, Administrative Assistant II in The Beacom College of Computer & Cyber Sciences

The focus of this award is to recognize a dedicated focus to customer service, commitment to quality improvement, outstanding skills and abilities, teamwork, and professionalism while enhancing the quality of work life for colleagues. Kahler exemplifies these traits with strong communication skills, creative solutions, and virtues of reliability, perseverance, and a focus on results.
