Preparation + opportunity = success

That's the DSU equation. We're a four-year university with nationally recognized programs, cutting-edge facilities, and the brightest thinkers. But we're also a tight-knit, inclusive community. Small class sizes mean hands-on training and individualized attention. All this with an affordable, public school price that's among the best values in the region.

PREMIER Bankcard Women in Business University Event

April 1, 2025

Dakota State University is welcoming the PREMIER Bankcard Women in Business University Event to the Heartland Captains Club in the Beacom PREMIER Athletics Complex on Wednesday, April 9.

The day’s events will be open to all DSU students, including a networking lunch featuring the theme “Own your Potential.” At least one businessperson will be seated at each table to talk with tablemates about their experiences.

“We are excited to help share the stories of successful women in business with Dakota State students,” said Dr. Ashley Podhradsky, vice president for Research & Economic Development at DSU. “This event will be a great opportunity for our students to connect and network with businesspeople and maybe even find a mentor.”

“At Dakota State, we believe in the statement, ‘if you see it, you can be it,’ so this event will allow our students to learn so much from the stories of these successful businesswomen,” she added.

The event will begin with a panel discussion at 10 a.m.  Students will be able to pre-submit questions to ask the four-person panel about breaking through the glass ceiling, work-life balance and flexibility, mentorship and sponsorship, and combatting gender bias and discrimination.

Following the panel, Reshma Peck, chief marketing officer of Experian, will give the keynote address about her experience as a female and senior executive.

After the networking lunch, the event will wrap up with PREMIER Bankcard, Sanford, and DSU participants sharing a summary of their career journeys, a challenge they’ve overcome, an achievement they’re proud of, and offering a piece of advice to the audience. Each participant will have 5-7 minutes to speak. Following this, there will be time for questions and open discussions, with participants willing to stay beyond 2 p.m. to make sure all questions are answered.
