Beadle open house Friday, Aug. 29
August 22, 2025
The public is invited to the open house to celebrate the re-opening of Beadle Hall on Friday, Aug. 29 at 3 p.m.
The event will begin outside Beadle Hall by the South Door and will feature live music from Contae Loch.
Beadle Hall first opened on campus in September of 1886 and was originally called the West Wing. In 1970 it was renamed in honor of General William Henry Harrison Beadle, president of Madison State Normal School (now Dakota State) from 1889-1905. Beadle Hall is the oldest building in the state of South Dakota still being used for its original purpose, but it has a brand-new look inside.
After enjoying the music and food and beverages, attendees will be able to take self-guided tours of the building. Inside student and faculty artwork will also be on display.
