Details

This one-hour presentation will focus on introductory information about the characteristics and criteria for individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Additionally, information about how the characteristics of ASD may be translated into observable behaviors.  Initial ideas about post-secondary supports will be provided.  Participants will be asked to complete a survey prior to the presentation.  The survey will be open until October 18, 2022.

Brittany Schmidt is a speech-language pathologist currently working for the Center for Disabilities at the University of South Dakota.  She also has a private practice, Autism Behavioral Consulting, that focuses on group work to help develop social thinking skills.  She has been in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorders for all of her careers with a primary emphasis being on challenging behavior and communication and play skill development.
