Free virtual DSU Teach Camp on Friday, June 6
May 1, 2025
Dakota State University’s College of Education & Human Performance’s annual virtual Teach Camp returns on Friday, June 6.
The free, one-day conference is open to all PK-12 teachers over Zoom. Participants interested in earning one graduate credit for attending can do so for a $40 fee. Sessions will begin at 8:15 a.m. CT and continue until 3:30 p.m. CT.
Several DSU faculty members will serve as speakers, along with regional elementary, middle, and high school educators. Attendees will be able to choose from three different topics during five, 50-minute sessions. Some of these topics include Curipod interactive lessons, classroom management, making learning stick, special education, artificial intelligence in action, advanced Canva, and mathematic discussions.
The morning will kick off with a welcome followed by opening speaker Rebecka Peterson, the 2023 National Teacher of the Year.
This is the 10th year DSU will be offering the camp. In 2016, through an Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) grant, the College of Education & Human Performance offered STEAM Camp. This one-day workshop focused on topics of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM). After the grant ended in 2019, DSU reworked the event into Teach Camp, making it available online to increase the number of attendees and provide sessions addressing all teaching areas in addition to STEAM.
The 2025 DSU Teach Camp is supported by the Dakota State College of Education & Human Performance, Sanford Harmony, Sanford Inspire, and the South Dakota Paraprofessional Apprenticeship Pathway.
