Kenley Participates in Fulbright Scholar Liaison Training
February 25, 2026
Dakota State University Professor David Kenley recently participated in the 2026 Fulbright Scholar Liaison Training in Washington, D.C., joining representatives from colleges and universities across the United States to strengthen institutional engagement with the Fulbright Program.
The national training provided updates on the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, the Fulbright Specialist Program, and institutional capacity-building opportunities. Sessions focused on the responsibilities of Fulbright Scholar Liaisons, strategies for building a Fulbright-supportive campus culture, and guidance on faculty leave and application processes.
Kenley serves as DSU’s official Fulbright Scholar Liaison. In this role, he promotes Fulbright opportunities, advises prospective applicants, and works to strengthen institutional support for international teaching, research, and partnership development.
“Participating in the national Fulbright Liaison training provided valuable insight into how Dakota State can expand its global engagement,” Kenley said. “Fulbright offers meaningful opportunities for faculty and administrators to contribute internationally while bringing global perspectives back to our campus.”
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and administered in part by the Institute of International Education, the Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international academic exchange initiative. It supports teaching, research, and partnership opportunities abroad and enables U.S. institutions to host international scholars.
