Graduate Council Charter
I. COMMITTEE MISSION
The Graduate Council recommends admission requirements, manages the admission process, reviews graduate curricula, including proposed changes to the curricula, and recommends any necessary changes to the Provost and President. The Council oversees graduate education, including new program proposals, plans for the future of graduate education in the broadest terms, and guides the evolution of graduate programs at DSU. The Graduate Council is responsible for all academic policies related to post-baccalaureate study and degree programs.
II. COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP AND APPOINTMENTS
Members include:- Dean, Graduate Studies (Chair, nature of office)
- Graduate Studies staff appointed by the Dean (ex officio)
- Provost (ex officio)
- Office of the Provost staff appointed by the Provost (ex officio)
- Registrar and or staff appointed by the Registrar (ex officio)
- Director of Karl E. Mundt Library (ex officio)
- Director of International Programs (ex officio)
- Undergraduate Research Coordinator
- One (1) graduate faculty member elected by the College of Arts & Sciences
- Department Chairs with Graduate Programs
- Dean, Beacom College of Computer & Cyber Sciences
- Dean, College of Arts & Sciences
- Dean, College of Business & Information Systems
- Dean, College of Education & Human Performance
