Dakota State University is located on 22 acres in Madison, South Dakota, near two glacial lakes that provide year-round recreation. In the spring and summer, water skiing, sailing, and fishing dominate the on-the-water activities. In the fall and winter months, visitors and residents find numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation including hiking and cross-country skiing.

Dakota State University is a scenic campus with beautiful historical buildings. The university features meeting rooms, classrooms of various sizes, audio/visual resources, banquet facilities, dining and food options, housing and parking.
