2020 Spring semester goes online-only
March 24, 2020
The South Dakota Board of Regents has determined all South Dakota public universities will transition to spring classes online for the duration of the semester and postpone graduation until further notice, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“DSU’s faculty and staff have been busy preparing over several weeks for this possibility. Know that DSU is very ready for this as a result of the work of faculty and staff, and the capabilities of our tech-savvy students and employees,” said President José-Marie Griffiths, Ph.D.
Students will receive partial refunds for housing, dining services, and parking. See details at dsu.edu/covid/students.
DSU has a plan for students to retrieve their belongings from residence halls to facilitate a move-out process that allows for appropriate social distancing, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Anyone with questions or extenuating circumstances should call these Residence Life numbers, 605-291-9213 or 605-291-9602. The DSU Coronavirus Hotline is also available, 605-291-2351. The hotline will be staffed Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT. Messages left after hours will be returned the next workday.
