DSU Entrepreneurial Building and Paulson Center Opening
August 19, 2021
Dakota State University is celebrating the opening of the DSU Entrepreneurial Building and Paulson Cyber Incubator & Entrepreneurial Center (Paulson Center) with a program and reception on Saturday, August 28 beginning at 8:15 a.m.
“We are pleased the Entrepreneurial Building and the Paulson Center are ready to offer programs to support students, faculty, staff, and community entrepreneurs, innovators, and creators,” said Katherine Cota, director of Economic Development.
The Paulson Center is named after Matt Paulson, DSU alumnus, entrepreneur, private equity investor, and author. Paulson and his wife, Karine, provided a sponsorship gift to fund the center, which is an educational, applied learning laboratory for DSU students pursuing entrepreneurship through the creation of a new business or organization.
“We look forward to having the Cyber Incubator filled with DSU students starting and growing their businesses,” Cota said. “In the fall we will begin offering workshops for anyone interested in personal and business development.”
Paulson will speak at the event about why he created the Paulson Cyber Incubator & Entrepreneurial Center.
Chad Knutson, president of SBS CyberSecurity will also be a speaker at the event. He will talk about the formation of SBS and entrepreneurial aspects, and his current success today as an alumnus, local businessperson, and DSU supporter.
Additional remarks will be made by Cota, DSU President José-Marie Griffiths, and Dr. Ashley Podhradsky, vice president for Research and Economic Development at DSU. A public reception will follow, at the Entrepreneurial Building, 1400 North Washington Avenue, in Madison. Attendees are asked to RSVP by 8 a.m. on Monday, August 23 by emailing DSU-PaulsonCenter@dsu.edu.
