November 18, 2021
Dakota State University welcomes Emily Wollmann to Institutional Advancement as Foundation Records and Support Specialist.
Wollmann studied political science and nonprofit studies at the University of South Dakota (USD) and spent time working at the USD Foundation. She went on to work at Madison Regional Health System working with marketing and the foundation there.
Her experience in these positions has helped prepare her for this next opportunity at Dakota State. She is knowledgeable in nonprofits, fundraising campaigns and events, and the importance of donor-driven, philanthropic support in higher education.
As a Madison native, Wollmann is excited to join DSU.
“The growth that I’ve seen within the university has been so impressive, and I just wanted to be a part of it.” - Emily Wollmann
In her new position, she will manage gift processing, biographical record upkeep, and administrative support for the foundation. She hopes to bring effectiveness and efficiency to the table in these tasks as the foundation works to streamline and automate processes like these.
She’s also looking forward to working with the team at the foundation. “We’re very like-minded, but we also push each other to do our best, to grow, and to rise.”
Wollmann is ready to interact with the community that raised her, build on current relationships, and develop new ones. She loves to hear people’s stories, and especially student stories and the influence that DSU has on their lives.
“To have such a hands-on impact with the community through the foundation is just wonderful.”
