Dakota State to host provost candidates

Dakota State University will be hosting three candidates for the position of Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Candidates for the position include:
- Dr. Bradley Skelcher, currently Associate Provost at Delaware State University;
- Dr. Timothy Crowley, currently Assistant Provost for Academic Programs and Student Success at Fort Hays State University in Kansas;
- Dr. Joe King, a professor at Auburn University at Montgomery, with experience as a provost and chancellor.
On-campus interviews will take place January 17 through January 20, and will include meetings with department leaders, staff, and students. Each candidate will also address the campus community at a noon-hour presentation held in the Tunheim Classroom Building Auditorium, and each presentation will be webcast:
- Dr. Skelcher’s presentation on Tuesday
- Dr. Crowley on Wednesday
- Dr. King on Thursday
The role of a provost and vice-president of academic affairs is that of chief academic officer of the university. The position was previously held by Dr. Judy Dittman, who retired last summer; Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs is Dr. Richard Hanson. Searches are also in progress for a Dean of the College of Business and Information Systems, and Dean of the College of Computing.
