Dakota State University Student Groups Earn Recognition

The South Dakota Board of Regents this week honored student organizations from Dakota State University for their academic, community, and organizational achievements.

DSU student groups given special awards were:

Award for Academic Excellence – Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) creates a positive working relationship between business and education through innovative leadership and career development programs. Members focus on leadership skills, team building, networking, project management, business organization, and academic integrity skills. The organization works with students to develop their business skills, create a professional resume, and network with business leaders in the community and beyond.

Community Service Award – Members of the Photography Club dedicate their passion and interest in photography to community and campus events. The club has supported many events and organizations, including the DSU homecoming dance, Lake County 4-H grounds in Madison, the community haunted house, and the Madison Arts Council.

Award for Organizational Leadership – The Gaming Club provides entertainment and promotes fellowship among DSU students, while providing a place for students, faculty, and non-student gamers to teach or play games such as collectable card games, role-playing games, and board games. A lifetime membership is available to students who graduate as an active member of the Gaming Club, with lifetime access to sales and events hosted by the club.
