DSU residence halls to host Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31
October 26, 2017
Dakota State University students are changing up their Halloween trick or treating tradition by hosting a Trunk or Treat Halloween festival.
In previous years, the DSU students have invited community children to trick or treat at the residence halls; this year they are taking the treats to the community.
“We are looking to create a Halloween festival for the children to trick or treat, while providing the DSU students an opportunity to participate,” said Higbie Hall Residence Hall Director Aisha Lee.
Students who live in DSU’s residence halls will bring their vehicles to the United Methodist Church east parking lot on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The cars’ trunks will be decorated to fit the children’s literature theme “Once Upon a Time.”
DSU students will be dressed in costumes, and there will be free carnival games for the children. Food and drink will also be available.
The church is located at 304 N. Egan Avenue. The Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce is also hosting a trick or treat event on Egan Avenue during that same time.
