KSFY to broadcast from DSU, Madison on Miracle Treat Day
July 25, 2017
Madison and Dakota State University will be featured by the Sioux Falls ABC television affiliate, KSFY, as a “One Day Getaway” on July 27. Pierre, Aberdeen and Crazy Horse are other locations which have been featured this month.
“The goal of the series is to visit communities and share stories about the people and organizations in town,” said Josh Chilson, KSFY producer. For Madison, this includes Dakota State University.
KSFY will broadcast live from the DSU campus at 5 p.m. Thursday. The show will feature special stories about the university, and a live interview with DSU President Dr. José-Marie Griffiths.
“Dakota State University is on the threshold of one of the most exciting times in its 136-year history,” Griffiths said, “as we near completion of two building renovation projects and construction of the first new academic building on campus in 30 years, the Beacom Institute of Technology.”
For the 6 p.m. broadcast, KSFY will air live from Madison’s Dairy Queen, and feature stories on Prairie Village and two new Madison businesses.
“Having KSFY produce a series on Madison is phenomenal,” said Lake Area Improvement Corporation Executive Director Julie Gross. “DSU, city and county leaders spend time, energy and money promoting Madison and what is happening at the university and in our county. It is exciting when another entity like KSFY tells our story and promotes our strengths as well.”
