Fundraiser held for almost home canine rescue
February 9, 2016
Dakota State University students and faculty are combining their artistic talents along with Madison High and Middle School students and faculty for the Animal (Annual) Fundraiser Extravaganza for Almost Home Canine Rescue. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 1, 2016, from 5- 8 p.m. at the BrickHouse in Madison, S.D.
The artists will create postcard-sized, animal-themed drawings, paintings, collages, photography and 3-D clay artwork for the fundraiser. People are encouraged to come early for the best selection of the original animal artwork. The proceeds stay in our community and benefit Almost Home Canine Rescue with their mission to help homeless animals in the Madison area and support their foster care program.
Almost Home Canine Rescue is 100% volunteer and 100% foster-home-based rescue in Madison, S.D. Donations to AHCR provide the necessary funds for vet care, including the spay/neuter, vaccinations, dental cleaning and micro-chipping, as well as for healthy food, collars, leashes, toys and other necessities to make the animals comfortable in their foster-home until they are adopted into their forever home. AHCR assists with vet care for Madison’s pound animals, as well as in finding them homes, and often transporting them to shelters in the area.
The Madison Area Arts Council’s Brickhouse is located at 106 SE 2nd Street in Madison, S.D. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door. The postcard sized artwork will be available for $15 per piece, and the 3-D artwork will be priced as marked.
