Sodexo chosen as new food service vendor at DSU
August 27, 2015
Dakota State University announces that Sodexo will be the dining services and catering provider for the University and the Dakota Prairie Playhouse. Sodexo is a quality of life company that provides services for over 75 million consumers in 80 countries around the world. The SD Board of Regents approved the contract during their June meeting and Sodexo began at DSU on July 1, 2015.
Sodexo was selected by a committee of students and staff that negotiated a new food service contract as the agreement with Aramark expired on June 30, 2015. The committee reviewed proposals, conducted on-campus interview with each vendor, held open forum with students, faculty and staff, and negotiated with the two finalists.
“DSU is excited to partner with Sodexo for our dining and catering services,” said Marcus Garstecki, Vice President of Student Affairs. “The Sodexo team impressed our selection committee and the campus with their professionalism, creativity, and commitment to excellence during the entire process. I really believe our students, faculty and staff, and the community of Madison will be impressed with their quality of food and service. I also want to sincerely thank Aramark for their work here at DSU, as they have been a very good partner on our campus.”
Meal plan rates for students will remain the same for the 2015-2016 year and Einstein Bros. Bagels and Bit N’ Bytes C-Store will continue to be open on campus. Sodexo is also the food service provider for Augustana College in Sioux Fall, S.D.
