Commencement day schedule
The Hooding Ceremony
8:00 a.m. The Dakota Prairie Playhouse Convention Center opens to allow guests to be seated.
8:30 a.m. Master's graduates arrive at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse dressed in regalia.
9:00 a.m. Hooding ceremony begins.
Commencement Ceremony
9:30 a.m. The Fieldhouse opens to allow guests to be seated.
All guests must enter through the main Fieldhouse doors. Entrance is not permitted through the Madison Community Center doors.
9:45 a.m. *Graduates arrive at the Madison Community Center (MCC) double gym dressed in regalia.
10:30 a.m. Commencement procession begins. The ceremony will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Graduates and candidates, dressed in academic attire, enter the Fieldhouse. Faculty marshals will direct and lead the student procession onto the floor.
12:30 p.m. Ceremony ends (approx.)
12:30 p.m. Graduates reception begins at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse Convention Center immediately following the commencement ceremony. Please join us in celebrating the graduates, family, friends, classmates, and DSU faculty (cake and punch will be served).
