Dakota State University students walking around campus

Preparation + opportunity = success

That's the DSU equation. We're a four-year university with nationally recognized programs, cutting-edge facilities, and the brightest thinkers. But we're also a tight-knit, inclusive community. Small class sizes mean hands-on training and individualized attention. All this with an affordable, public school price that's among the best values in the region.

DSUnite scholarship fundraising event April 1

March 24, 2022

The Dakota State University Foundation has a few fun April Fools tricks up their sleeves for DSUnite, formerly known as The DSU Gala, its annual scholarship fundraising event, on Friday, April 1 in Sioux Falls, SD.

This year’s event is a less formal twist on this Trojan tradition. There will be appetizers and small bites served, places to sit, a signature DSU drink, photo booth, and more. Attendees are asked to come as they are whether that be DSU gear or cocktail attire.

“Each year we need well over $1 million for scholarships and we’re looking to raise $250,000 through DSUnite,” said Sami Zoss, Executive Director for Constituent Services and Engagement.

A silent auction will begin on Friday, March 25 at 8 a.m. at dsu.edu/dsunite. There are a variety of items up for auction including golf packages, DSU apparel, Chicago Cubs tickets, artwork, Black Hills cabins, and much more.

There will also be raffle tickets available for purchase through the silent auction for a Kate Spade purse, DSU bean bag boards, and a push lawnmower. The silent auction ends at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 1.

Alumni Kazzi Foster-Teel, ’00, and Hans Verhoeven, ’19, will be emcees for the evening. A live auction will take place during the event starting at 6:30 p.m. Some of the live auction items are trips to Florida, Las Vegas, and Wisconsin Dells, a trip to the Masters, and dinner with President José-Marie Griffiths.

Attend the event to support DSU, socialize with your Trojan family, and hear the latest news on what’s ahead for Dakota State. To purchase tickets for the event visit dsu.edu/dsunite.

For those unable to attend, but still wishing to participate, register for an account for the silent auction on the event’s site. To bid on live auction items, contact addie.graham-kramer@dsu.edu or call 605-366-7022 to provide a maximum bid amount or participate in the concierge bidding. To do so, please reach out by noon on Friday, April 1.
