Trojan Days Parade Route Update

The parade, which begins at 9:30 a.m., will start near the Dakota Prairie Playhouse and travel south past Residence Village, Heston Hall and the Trojan Center, and the Beacom Institute of Technology before finishing in the neighborhood just south of campus.
We recognize this adjustment brings changes to the traditional Trojan Days parade experience for alumni and supporters, especially our downtown business partners in the Madison community. We encourage Trojans to gather at their favorite establishments before and after the parade before joining DSU for football tailgating at 11 a.m.
Parking
Guests are invited to park in available lots throughout campus and along public roadways, where allowed by law. Street parking along the parade route (Washington Avenue between 11th and 3rd Street) will be unavailable from 3 p.m. Friday evening until the end of the parade. DSU Students, Faculty, and Staff are asked to move their vehicles from the parade route by 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26.
Washington Avenue along the parade route will be barricaded for no car travel between 8:30 a.m. and the conclusion of the parade.
Seating
Curbside seating will be first-come, first-served on both sides of Washington Avenue throughout campus. As this parade will flow through a residential neighborhood, we’d remind parade attendees that private property should be respected. Sidewalks and boulevards are public property and available for seating.
DSU’s Alumni Watch Party will be located at the Hexagon along Washington Avenue with donuts, coffee, juice, and hot chocolate available.
DSU’s Student Watch Party will be located at the Courtyard along Washington Avenue.

Restrooms in the Alumni Center, Dakota Prairie Playhouse and Trojan Center will be available for public use.
