Preparation + opportunity = success

That's the DSU equation. We're a four-year university with nationally recognized programs, cutting-edge facilities, and the brightest thinkers. But we're also a tight-knit, inclusive community. Small class sizes mean hands-on training and individualized attention. All this with an affordable, public school price that's among the best values in the region.

New agreements expand options for students in Health Information programs

November 15, 2023

Dakota State University has new articulation agreements with regional community colleges for Health Information Management (HIM) programs.

Students who attend Minnesota State Community & Technical College, Northeast Community College in Nebraska, Northeast Iowa Community College, Saint Paul College in Minnesota, Southeast Technical College, and Western Dakota Technical College can transfer their credits into Dakota State’s HIM programs.

“Articulation agreements are very important to the DSU HIM program because they attract students to our bachelor’s degree who are already prepared with the basic knowledge and skills of the Heath Informatics and Information Management (HIIM) profession,” said Dr. Renae Spohn, Director of HIM programs and coordinator of the Master of Science in Health Informatics and Information Management program.

“These students are already committed to being a health information professional and are motivated to learn more and advance in the workplace to higher positions,” she added.
