Preparation + opportunity = success

That's the DSU equation. We're a four-year university with nationally recognized programs, cutting-edge facilities, and the brightest thinkers. But we're also a tight-knit, inclusive community. Small class sizes mean hands-on training and individualized attention. All this with an affordable, public school price that's among the best values in the region.

CISA Director looks to inspire the next generation of cyber leaders

March 13, 2024

Jen Easterly, the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), will be at Dakota State University on Friday, March 22.

She will speak at the annual DakotaCon Cybersecurity Conference at 9 a.m. in Dakota Prairie Playhouse. After her keynote remarks, she will join Dakota State University President José-Marie Griffiths and Dr. Mary Bell, Dean of The Beacom College of Computer & Cyber Sciences, in a panel discussion on cybersecurity topics. DSU’s Vice President for Research & Economic Development, Dr. Ashley Podhradsky, will moderate the discussion.

“I’m excited to visit Dakota State University to discuss the importance of cybersecurity at DakotaCon,” said Easterly.

“As the head of America’s Cyber Defense Agency, one of my top priorities is to engage with and inspire the next generation of cyber leaders as they forge their career paths in a world where these skills have never been more needed and more important. Events like DakotaCon help pave the way.”

DakotaCon is a three-day conference that allows attendees to interact directly with speakers and their security peers. There are free speaking events on Friday and a Saturday competition called Dakota Conquest. Weekend training sessions are provided by companies such as TrustedSec and 7ASecurity.
