2014 DSU Royalty Crowned

The 2014 Dakota State University Homecoming King and Queen were crowned in a ceremony last night as part of the week-long homecoming festivities.

The queen is Annalesha Kalis, a senior elementary education and special education major from Waldorf, Minn. Kalis is a GO! Leader and a Student Ambassador. She is involved with Colleges Against Cancer, Student Activities Board, choir, and was a member of the Lady T’s Basketball team.

Walker Ruhd, a junior biology for information systems major from Clear Lake, S.D. Walker is a GO! Leader, a Student Ambassador, a member of the Student Activities Board, sings with the choir and is very active in Intramurals.

Candidates for king included:

Lucas Dolan is a senior biology for information systems major from Milroy, M.N. He is involved in Colleges Against Cancer, St. Michael Newman Club and active in intramurals.

Matt Groff is a senior physical education major from Prescott, A.Z. He is a captain for the DSU football team and is involved in the PE and Coaching Club.

Mostafa Haque is a junior computer game design major from Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is a resident assistant and is active in International Club, Film Club, Game Design Club and assistant editor of the Trojan Times.

TD Sherman is a junior computer and network security major from Spencer, Iowa. Sherman is involved with Cru and is a resident assistant and Student Ambassador.

Candidates for queen included:

Sarah Alfson is a junior exercise science major from Chester, S.D. Alfson is member of Cru and Exercise Science Club.

Emily Blackwelder is a senior Finance major from Canby, Minn. Emily is involved in Delta Mu Delta and PBL Business Club.   

Destinni Girton is a junior elementary and special education major from Platte, S.D.

Taylor Lynde is a senior business management major from Britton, S.D. Taylor is involved in the Student Activities Board, intramurals, Student Ambassadors and was a Student Coordinator this year for New Student Orientation.
