How to Apply

We aim to make the graduate application process as simple as possible but if, at any point, you find the process confusing or have questions, we’re more than happy to help walk you through it.

Application Process

Here’s what you need to do to apply as an international graduate student:

  • Complete the graduate application. Be sure to identify any additional requirements that may be necessary for the program you are seeking

  • Provide necessary documentation. We’ll need your GRE score (GMAT or GRE accepted for MBA program only). Make sure you have requested that your test scores, recommendations, transcripts, etc. are mailed directly to the DSU Graduate Office
  • Verify that you are financially self-sustaining. We need you to be able to show that you have financial support for at least two years. This is why you’ll need to complete the Certificate of Financial Responsibility form (PDF)
  • Pay your application fee. There is an application fee of $35 (payable by credit card or bank check made to Dakota State University)
  • Once you have demonstrated your financial responsibility, we’ll send you a Form I-20. You’ll need this form to apply for an F-1 Student Visa
