If you’re a reporter or producer and would like to contact us regarding your media inquiry, please call our media hotline at 605-270-3816 or send an email to mediarelations@dsu.edu. Please include your name, your publication, the nature of your story, and your deadline date. Review our media policy below for more details.
Media policy
We are committed to providing credentialed members of the media with established journalistic standards access to the best sources of information for stories pertaining to the University's role in higher education. To assist media in this regard, we offer these guidelines for working with the University:
Interview Requests
Reporters wishing to interview University leaders, staff, faculty, or students can contact a representative of Dakota State University through the media hotline at 605-270-3816 or by sending an email to mediarelations@dsu.edu.
We ask that reporters provide questions and the precise subject matter and nature of their story when calling for an interview or to obtain information about the University.
We realize that story deadlines are often tight and we will do our best to accommodate these deadlines. For urgent requests, voicemails left at 605-270-3816 can help expedite response time.
Campus Access
Members of the media may not photograph, record or interview faculty, staff, or students at Dakota State University without advanced permission. Please contact our designated media representatives through the media hotline or mediarelations@dsu.edu to coordinate on-campus filming.
Staff/Faculty Inquiries

The Dakota State University Marketing and Communications Department writes press releases for University events, facility updates, faculty expertise, awards, student successes, and research.
All requests for interviews with faculty, staff, or students should be coordinated through the Marketing and Communications Department.
