The Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Education and Technology at Dakota State University is a fully online, 30-credit post-master’s degree for experienced educators seeking leadership roles in teaching and technology. Building on DSU’s strengths in teacher education, literacy leadership, educational technology, cybersecurity, and computer science, the program prepares graduates to serve as instructional leaders, technology specialists, and change agents in K–12 and postsecondary settings.

Coursework mirrors the master’s in education and technology, allowing educators with an existing master’s degree to earn an advanced credential rather than a second master's. The Ed.S. is a postgraduate program designed for educators to earn an advanced degree without completing a full doctoral program.

Curriculum and experience highlights

Advanced Technology Integration

Through hands-on engagement with innovative tools, candidates build both technical fluency and instructional expertise.
