The Health Informatics and Information Management accreditor of Dakota State University is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
The College’s accreditation for the Master of Science degree in Health Informatics & Information Management has been reaffirmed through 2027-28 for Health Information Management accreditation.
DSU's master's program in HIIM is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
"The Master’s Degree in Health Informatics and Information Management Program is also in Candidacy Status, pending accreditation review by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM)." This will transition the program into Health Informatics accreditation.

- Minimum 2.7 GPA
- Knowledge in the following areas, evidenced in academic transcripts or prior experience:
- Information systems (IS):
- Related undergraduate degree in MIS
- Undergraduate or graduate coursework that covers knowledge of IS
- Appropriate, verifiable IS or IT experience
- Healthcare:
- Related undergraduate degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or another healthcare field
- Undergraduate or graduate coursework that covers knowledge of healthcare
- Appropriate, verifiable healthcare experience
- Statistics:
- Related undergraduate degree in statistics or related field
- Undergraduate or graduate coursework that covers knowledge of statistics
- Appropriate, verifiable experience working with statistics
- Information systems (IS):
- If you don’t meet all requirements, you may still be accepted but might need to take additional courses.
- International applicants must have a degree equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree.
- No GRE is required.
