The accounting specialization equips you with the skills and tools to manage the financial side of modern organizations with strong technical and ethical foundations. Through hands-on learning and industry-relevant tools, you will learn to interpret financial information, analyze business operations, and support sound financial decision-making. You will be business-ready with the knowledge of accounting logistics and experience with QuickBooks, Sage 50, and tax preparation software. Examples of technology can range from cash registers to security systems, or Global Positioning System (GPS) systems to microwaves.

DSU's highly competitive athletic esports program provides real-world opportunities for students to be involved in the management, coaching, promotion, marketing, communications, and livestreaming of competitions for varsity and junior varsity teams. The Athletics Events Center, opened in fall of 2024, features a state-of-the-art arena to host competitions and produce live esports events.
In this specialization, you’ll gain experience in managing live esports events and developing an understanding of the technical requirements of the esports ecosystem. By diving into the business and operations side of competitive gaming, it will prepare you to create content and develop business acumen and expertise in marketing and promotion, events and facility management, and brand management. This specialization will allow you to level up and shape the future of esports.

With this finance specialization, you will learn to organize and analyze financial data with statistical models and data analysis tools. Sharpen your analytical and decision-making skills to manage financial resources within organizations and for hypothetical financing and investment decision making. With this specialization, you will be able to identify the complexity of business operations within a global environment and explain the operations of key investment concepts, techniques, financial markets, institutions, and interactions.
