Dakota State University students walking around campus

Preparation + opportunity = success

That's the DSU equation. We're a four-year university with nationally recognized programs, cutting-edge facilities, and the brightest thinkers. But we're also a tight-knit, inclusive community. Small class sizes mean hands-on training and individualized attention. All this with an affordable, public school price that's among the best values in the region.

Dropping a class or withdrawing

Students may drop a class during the census-drop/add period (found in the academic calendar) and receive a refund for the full tuition and fees charged for that class.

Students may drop a class after the drop/add period to receive a W grade and no refund; the deadline is published in the academic calendar and the DSU academic catalogs. Students wishing to drop a class may do so in Self-Service Banner.

Students who want to withdraw from all of their courses for a term can do so by completing the online form below to initiate the request. We recommend you visit with your academic advisor prior to initiating a full withdrawal.
