The DSU Policy Lab

The Dakota State University Policy Lab produces analysis and applied research on the intersection between (1) cyber/emerging/disruptive technologies; and (2) policy, strategic competition, and international security.

It also serves as a professional development and cohesion hub for DSU students pursuing Cyber Leadership and Intelligence (CLI), and others pursuing careers in national defense and intelligence.

“On the way to the first truly global world order, the great human achievements of technology must be fused with enhanced powers of humane, transcendent, and geo-political judgment.”- Henry Kissinger

Policy Lab Objectives

  • Screenshot of a Panopto session. There's a screen of Dr Jim Cahill presenting a lecture, a bar full of the text transcription, that is unreadable in this image, and a preview of the presentation which has some sort of logo in front of an American flag and says 2026 NDS and the rest of the text featured on the slide is also unreadable. Expand collaborations with government and private sector partners to deepen DSU applied research on future national and international security.
  • Increase student engagement on national security through co-curricular and experiential learning, internships, and career services.
  • Incubate new multi-disciplinary relationships across DSU, other SDBOR Universities, and nationally and internationally.
